The membership is comprised of County Surveyors, City Surveyors, Chiefs of County and City Surveying sections and technical staff from county and city governments or related agencies.
Membership is obtained through yearly dues. Elected positions on the Council include President, President-Elect and Secretary-Treasurer. The council meets bi-monthly in Ellensburg, Washington. Members may meet on ad hoc basis for special workgroups and projects.
The Washington Council of County Surveyors (WCCS) was formed in 1992 to provide a forum for the exchange of information, standards, and ideas between land surveyors engaged in work for county governments and related agencies. WCCS is an affiliate of the National Association of County Surveyors (NACS).
The Council serves as an advisory group to the public sector and the surveying community in matters of cadastral surveying and the Public Land Survey System.
The Council sponsors the annual Survey Camp. This 4-day seminar presents classes in basic surveying mathematics, field procedures, current state law and other subjects relevent to those engaged in public-sector surveying.
